Personalised training and behaviour sessions employing our GEM approach to tailor our work to your dog's Genetics, Emotions and Memories.

Welcoming a New Family Member

Prevention is better (and cheaper) than cure. That is why I want to help people to identify the right dog for them, and to give them the tools to provide their new puppy or rescued dog with the best possible start.

Training Walks/Sessions

Choosing the Right Dog - £25

A 20-30 minute consultation to identify the right sort of dog (breed, temperament, age, etc.) for your family and lifestyle. Avoid the emotional and financial stress that comes with getting the wrong dog for you. Includes personalised feedback and recommendations.

Settling in Package - £145 (£120 if you purchased my 'Choose the Right Dog' consultation)

Why would you spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds on a dog, then accidentally allow them to pick up bad habits during their first weeks at home? Instead, purchase my 'Settling In' Package, comprising a 60-min in-person consultation during their first week at home, and a 60-min in-person consultation in weeks 4-6. I will help you to avoid future problems by giving you the skills and tools needed to give your new family member the best possible start.

60 minutes - £65

One-on-one training and behaviour change in your own home and local area. My goal is to help you and your dog to learn and gain confidence in your usual environment.

Prices include personalised feedback and recommendations, plus homework for you and your dog to practice between sessions.

These sessions are for existing canine clients of GEM Dogs, either as a complement to regular walks or as a follow-up from one of my other consultations. They do not allow time for the detailed discussion required with a dog who is not already well known to me.

The time required will depend upon the severity of the behavioural issue, and will be determined during your free 15-min introductory call. Please contact me to arrange a time for this conversation.

I work with the full range of canine behavioural issues, from excessive barking and jumping, to more serious problems such as separation anxiety, reactivity and aggression.

Consultations involve observation at home and on a walk; assessment of your dog's behaviour both with and without you; demonstration and practice of behaviour change exercises; and a written proposal for ongoing training.

60 minutes - £75

90 minutes - £105

woman wearing yellow long-sleeved dress under white clouds and blue sky during daytime

My family brought me home with them, snugly cradled in their arms. They cuddled me and smiled at me, and said I was full of charm!

We would laugh and play all day, they showered me with toys! I soon learned to love my family, especially the girls and boys.

The children loved to feed me, they'd give me special treats. They even let me sleep with them, all snuggled in the sheets.

They used to laugh and praise me when I played with my old shoe, but I was never taught the difference between the old ones and the new.

The kids and I would grab a rag, and for hours we would tug. So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bathroom rug.

They said I was out of control and would have to live outside. This I did not understand, although I tried and tried.

The walks stopped one by one, they said they didn't have time. I wish that I could change things. I wish I knew my crime.

My life became so lonely, in the backyard on a chain. I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.

So they brought me to a shelter but were embarrassed to say why. They said I caused an allergy, and then kissed me good-bye.

If I'd only had some training, when I was just a pup. Then I wouldn't have been so confused when I was all grown up.
